Opening Position @ Intel - IT support Technician

Job Title: IT support Technician

Job Description: Provide technical support by phone, chat, email, and web ticketing interfaces to internal and/or external customer on software/hardware products, business processes, and services. Responsibilities include answering incoming calls and providing technical assistance following established procedures and guidelines. Responsible for routing more advanced problems outside of established guidelines to appropriate personnel. Assignments are semi-routine in nature. Work performed within generally defined parameters. Some degree of judgement required in resolving non-standard problems. Normally receives general instructions on most work.

Qualification:
You should possess at least a Diploma in IT/Engineering with basic knowledge in IT products and services or a related discipline with at least one to three years of experience in IT or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Additional qualifications include:
  • Knowledge of Engineering design environment
  • Fluency in English (read and/or write and/or converse)
  • Knowledge of IT operations, responsibilities, workflow processes, and procedures to resolve most issues independently
  • Good analytical problem solving and communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to work effectively with various teams
  • Minimum one year plus experience of customer support, deliver exemplary customer service based upon professional, interpersonal and communication skills and knowledge in UNIX* based environment.
  • Good time management abilities and flexibility on multiple task assignments
  • Proactive problem solving abilities and continual process improvement for maximum customer satisfaction and team efficiency
  • Be self-directed, able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated tolerance of ambiguity, self-motivation and flexibility to adapt to new and changing situations
  • Ability to work flex schedules during weekdays (Monday - Friday) as well as occasional weekends
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a changing environment, recognize priority issues and escalate accordingly
  • Ability to translate technical terms into non-technical language
  • Understanding of computer terms and acronyms, ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly
  • Basic to medium level UNIX* and Windows* skills with minimum 1 year experience in UNIX* accounts troubleshooting and environment support would be an added advantage. Above 3 years - for senior position.
